In this moderated discussion, Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart, President of Amarillo College – named 2021 Top Five Institution and Rising Star for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence – will share his vision for improving student success by fostering an institutional commitment to “structural love” and driving institutional and system level changes which, at their core, focus on loving every student. Dr. Lowery-Hart will share how he communicated and advanced this vision to invest in all students so that students can feel that they meaningfully belong and that their identities and cultures are affirmed by the institution, his approach to engaging multiple stakeholders (including board, faculty, administrators, and students), and the through-line from loving every student to advancing racial equity in place at the Amarillo College.
